A Movie Star Called Me

It gave me chills and I gasped and waved my hand in the air. The star of True Lies dialed my number and wanted to talk to me! The Terminator was speaking right in my ear! I almost felt like he was too close to my personal air space, too intimate for a man other than my husband.

Oh no, wait, it's just a recorded voting plea from my governor, sent to all of California probably. Still, the accent of Arnold Schwarzenegger brought a big smile to my face as I actually listened to the end of his message (more than I can say for the half-dozen other election-related automated calls we've received in the past week). I almost wished I hadn't picked up the phone and "he" had been able to leave a message so David could hear it too. It's not every day celebrities call us. On the other hand, Rudy Giuliani called us yesterday...

Oh, I just loved this entry! I have to say that even though I am an Independent, I write all of the checks in this family as the resident bill payer, and therefore I have not one, not two, but three signed photos of our wonderful President and his First, and only, Lady, Laura Bush. We are also more than glad that Four More Years will be there for them. May God protect and guide our President, his advisors and our troops.
