Sometimes yes, sometimes no...
Mark at Cow Pi posted a quote I loved right away. Four Ways God Answers Prayer:

God so loves it when we come to Him humbly and depend on His ample supplies of everything we could ever need, whether spiritual, emotional or physical. He loves to be our magnificent Provider. Thank goodness He, in His wisdom and knowledge, doesn't answer all prayers "yes." His view of things is so infinitely broader, braver and more long-term than ours.
May my first thought in trouble be to plead with God for help.
May my first thought in blessing be to thank Him profusely for His kindness.
May my first thought in perplexedness be to kneel and ask for wisdom from His huge coffers He opens so generously to those who sincerely bow before Him.

Yesterday was a prayer of surrender for me. A particular chronic problem I have been complaining in my heart about...walking through the kitchen yesterday morning, all alone in the house, I said, LORD, I am giving my --- ---- to You. do as You will.
Now, to see how long I can go without taking it back!
