Where to go?

Living in the South of France makes vacation decisions kind of weird. I mean, you're already in paradise. Why go anywhere? Palm trees, the Mediterranean, olive trees, apple orchards, grape vines, wheat fields, a local mountain, a pool, flaky warm croissants and hot chocolate made with good European milk. They're all here. Not to mention David's scrumptious marbled pound cake with chocolate glaze sprinkled with pecan halves. But that won't be here for much longer.

On the other hand, with three or four hours' drive, we reach Spain to the west, Italy to the east, or Switzerland to the North. So you can see there are some decisions to be made when we have our first school holiday after seven straight weeks of slogging through francophone classes from 8:20am to 5pm and then doing homework until 7pm. Barcelona, Andorra, Monaco, Turin, or the Alps?

On the non-existent third hand, it's only 3.5 hours of flight time from here to Dublin, Ireland. I've never been to Ireland...

Sounds like a wonderful "problem" to solve! Can't wait to find out where you choose and see pictures!

Oh, my vote is definitely Ireland! While I have been to Spain, Italy, and Switzerland, (not yet, admittedly, ever to Andorra), if I were to advise you, I would trot on over to the Emerald Isle and whisper hello to your relatives on your maternal grandmother's side of the Flynn family. Lots to see and do, and all in English, (more or less), with lovely scenery and much history. Family trips are fabulous, in any case! I love you...Mom
