More Forsythia
I just can't stop taking pictures of these lovely Forsythia bushes. I still remember when my mom and I (as a young girl) looked up the origin of the name, and discovered they were named after William Forsyth, an 18th century Scottish horticulturist and royal head gardener...and that there was an alternate pronunciation to "For-sih-thia." Recently here in France I heard a British woman pronounce it that other way: "For-sigh-thia." Perhaps, then, that is the original way. In any case, these cheery bushes light up the pathway to Emily's school, and adorn front gardens throughout the village.
