Pheasant
The yield of a blustery, gray walk in Great Windsor Park yesterday: a close-up pheasant sighting. It is a pheasant, isn't it? That's Jason in the cold weather gear with the big branch.

Yes, looks like a pheasant from here! We have one like him in our neighborhood. Looks like yours. :-)

Good to catch up a bit (via reading your blog - I'm not on twitter - till we return to broadband-land).
Great reminder of where we need to satisfy our thirst.
And wow - David makes quite a sacrifice for the family to live in your part of England! 2.5 hrs a day commute! That's incredible.

Thanks, Julie - I found a confirming image online as well.
Paul - to clarify, David commutes 1h15 each way, so that does add up to 2.5 hours per day, yes. I am the one who dislikes it more than he, it would seem. He looks at the positive sides: exercise and fresh air during the walking part and the time to read, snooze, listen to music or physics lectures during the train ride...
Thanks for re-reminding me about the Source of Water - I can forget so quickly it's dizzying.
I need to be very thankful for my broadband. Thanks for that reminder as well.

Hmm, I also recognize the pheasant from ones I've seen here in Idaho (they were imported years ago). I won't say what I was doing at the time though except to say that they tasted pretty good ;-)

Yep. That's a pheasant. Male, I believe.
