Night and Morning in Nafplio
nighttime in Nafplio, Greece
windows open
to sleep with delicious fresh air
instead of stale smoke remains
breathing like camping
but noisy
cats
yowling
keening
wailing
hissing
growling
snarling
dogs
barking
truck
beepily backing up
people
laughing
talking
heels
slapping on pavement
cars
motorbikes
morning in Nafplio
open the pumpkin-colored shutters
to a sparkling
clear
bright blue
day
ruined castle walls
still stand firm
up on the hill
sunshine streams
over the balcony
cats are still yowling
poor things

You paint a word picture so vividly, I am sure I can hear the cats yowling all the way here in Virginia! We have prayed for traveling mercies for you every day of your trip. Heathrow seems to be in a bit of a mess! God be with you on Monday, as always...Mom
