Ice, Frost, and Snow

There are only four references to ICE in the Bible. The most interesting to me:
"The breath of God produces ice." Job 37:10
"...an expanse, sparkling like ice, and awesome." Ezekiel 1:22

And five references to FROST, among them:
"Thin flakes like frost on the ground appeared on the desert floor." Exodus 16:14 (describing manna!)
"He...scatters the frost like ashes." Psalm 147:16
"On that day there will be no light, no cold or frost." Zechariah 14:6

There are 23 references to SNOW. Notably:
"leprous, like snow" (Exodus 4:6, Numbers 12:10)
"He also went down into a pit on a snowy day and killed a lion." 2 Samuel 23:20
"swollen with melting snow" Job 6:16
"He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’" Job 37:6
“Have you entered the storehouses of the snow or seen the storehouses of the hail?" Job 38:22
"He spreads the snow like wool" Psalm 147:16
"lightning and hail,
snow and clouds, stormy winds that do his bidding" Psalm 148:8
"Like the coolness of
snow at harvest time is a trustworthy messenger to those who send him" Proverbs 25:13
"Like
snow in summer... honor is not fitting for a fool." Proverbs 26:1
"Does the snow of Lebanon ever vanish from its rocky slopes? " Jeremiah 18:"14
"The Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow." Daniel 7:9
"His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow" Revelation 1:14

And the best ones:

"Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow." Psalm 51:7

“Come now, let us reason together,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow." Isaiah 1:18

Last year, someone sent us a Christmas card with a snowman on the front, and Psalm 51:7 quoted - I think it might have been my favorite card! :-) Nice choice, Linda & Jeff.

Thanks for doing this!

We had our first snow this morning and it does give one a truer perspective on just how clean He can make us when we turn to Him and repent! Had fellowship with two other women from Trinity (a Circle group) in front of a roaring fire at the home of a sister-in-Christ. Forgiveness is a wonderful thing!
