Portofino, Italy

Seven minutes' drive from our hotel, along a very narrow, windy road hugging the sea, was Portofino, a small Italian postcard-perfect coastal village that stuck in my mind ever since my parents visited it without me long ago. Now I've finally been!

Ah, yes, I remember it well! Your father bought me a pure silk designer (as in chic and very expensive) long lavender dress with raspberries all over it, including a matching wrap to cover the decolletage...front and back! I was slimmer in those days, and he loved to see me in it! Orson and Martha were with us on that fabulous trip, so meticulously planned to include the best eating experiences possible! Such memories! It looks the same, the town, not my body! xoxoxo Mom
