New England fall foliage - and my late grandmother's aubergine house
We squeezed in five minutes to stop by and gaze at the house my mother grew up in from age 12...and where I visited my grandmother every summer as a child. The new owners appear to have painted it "aubergine" (my mother tells me it's not referred to as purple). It looks gray in this photo, but I tell you, it's that color between red and blue).

Glad to see the house looks pretty much the same.
I'm guessing the BOW WOW is gone from the front yard?

I don't remember seeing it...the swing is definitely gone, and the sign on the garage.

Thank you for these pictures. I really miss the Enchanted Cottage, and your pix bring back such great memories!

Hi Suzanne,
yeah it was really odd to be there...no Grammy, no swing, aubergine-colored house, but same structure, same garage, same lawn and hedge and tree, neighborhood, and memories of so many years gone by. My husband was so sweet to let us stop, in the middle of an already hectic trip. What a guy. But hey, it was lunch-time and the Chester exit popped up at just the right moment...Of course I am picturing all of Grammys furniture inside, since I didnt go inside and get those memories disturbed with todays reality of the new people living there.
