Can't resist one post truly from abroad...we are heading home but our hotel has wireless access in the lobby and now that I've happily NOT blogged all during our long trip to many places, I thought I'd just say hello from Rome. If you step outside of our hotel and look left, you see the dome of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican...which we climbed today. Quite a potential for claustrophobia and vertigo in those tiny winding staircases filled with people...But a great view of the Vatican and Rome from the top.
Loved being with David's family in Georgia, my brothers in France, my home town in Switzerland, and my whole family in Italy. And now will love being home again (after 19 hours of travel tomorrow - we could use prayer for that since three out of four of us now have colds...how does one get a cold in hot, sunny Italy?).
Enjoyed my rest from blogging - also gathered a lot of things to write about...but not sure at this point if I want to continue. It definitely takes a lot of time and effort. If I kept to the 30 seconds of my nomenclature, maybe. But it's not really very realistic. We'll see.
Wow, what a blessed time you have had! My dream is to go to Europe sometime, though it feels like a VERY lofty dream at this point. I hope you realize how blessed you are to travel so much. Sending up a prayer for a safe flight home for you and family. :-)
I'll miss your blog if you stop.....but understand if you do! I actually am thinking of starting a blog. Both my kids have one now, though not much happening on them. We'll see.
So nice to hear from you overseas! Awesome to be able to do that eh?
Blessings, Helen

I'm glad to hear you've had such a wonderful trip and I pray you are having a safe flight home without any kind of congestion...;-)

Thanks so much for your prayers - we made it home safely around midnight last night CA time (9am the next morning body time, after 25 hours in transit!). Praise God, my ears were just totally blocked but caused no pain at all, and the kids even stopped sniffling and seem perfectly healthy this morning. Now to get over the 9 hour jet lag and do the laundry after our 18-day trip!
